What is the Legacy Rise Youth Board?

One of Legacy Rise's focuses is to empower the youth to curate events for the public to promote community engagement and create lasting relationships with local resources and residents. This youth board aims to create opportunities for youth to develop their leadership and networking abilities, connect them with resources in their community, and build a legacy that will leave a lasting mark.

The Legacy Rise Youth Board is a team of passionate young leaders who plan events, drive community initiatives, and develop real-world skills. As a member, you will have the ability to shape programs, lead projects, and make a tangible difference.

What You Will Do

Youth board members will work together to plan, produce, and execute community events every other month that will connect people with resources and organizations to create continuous relationships that last beyond the moment.

Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility

  • Ages 16-22
  • High school juniors through college seniors
  • Commitment to 8-10 hours/month
  • Ability to travel to meetings and events
  • No prior experience required

$10,000 Scholarship Opportunity

To empower and to cultivate young people's abilities in our community means supporting them and believing in the impact they make.

At the end of the term, the Board will come together to select 1 high-achieving individual who has truly grown and lived out our core values while exceptionally performing their duties as a youth board member. The selected individual will receive a $10,000 scholarship towards their education, paid in-full to the educational institution of their choice.

That's perfectly fine! No prior experience is required. Our Youth Board is designed to be a learning experience. We provide mentorship and a supportive environment to help you grow as a leader.

Applicants must be high school juniors through college seniors. If you are not currently enrolled in school, you would not qualify for this term of the Youth Board.

If transportation is a barrier to this opportunity, please communicate that to us and we can figure something out! We don't want logistics to stand in the way of your growth.

Youth Board members should expect to commit 8-10 hours per month. This includes meetings, event planning, and community engagement activities.
